Seymour Daily Tribune Helen Coleman 9/2/2006 April 30, 1917 – Aug. 31, 2006 Helen Coleman, 89, Brownstown, died at 7:28 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, at her residence. Mrs. Coleman was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown, and she had worked at Gerwin Shoe Factory for 25 years, Citizens State Bank, Brownstown, and was a homemaker. Born April 30, 1917, in Kokomo, she was a daughter of Jesse Bridgewater and Merle Stevenson, both of whom preceded her in death. On April 14, 1931, in Indianapolis, she married Guy Coleman, who preceded her in death in 1978. Survivors include three daughters, Betty Farris, Hamilton, Ohio, Scarlett (Tom) Allman, and Regina (Bob) Williams, both of Brownstown; one half sister, Martha Motsinger, Colorado; 14 grandchildren, Kevin Farris, Rochelle Farris, Angela Farris, Craig Davis, Darren Davis, Brett Davis, Joby Davis, Tracey Coleman, Travis Coleman, Troy Coleman, Adam Nicholson, Terrisa Brown, Kathy Covert and Cindy Gray. She was preceded in death by one son, Tom Coleman; one daughter, Norma Jean Coleman; one granddaughter, Glenda Farris; one grandson, Jimmy Farris; one-great-grandson, Tyler Davis; one brother, J.T. Bridgewater; and one half brother, Paul Bridgewater. Pastor Jack Belk and Pastor Jeff Geisler will conduct funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown. Burial will take place at Kurtz Cemetery, Norman. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Brownstown, and from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Peter's Lutheran Daycare Ministry, Hoosier Christian Village Auxiliary or donor's choice.
