Seymour Daily Tribune May 23, 2002 William Pleasant Cole William Pleasant Cole, 87, North Vernon, died at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at the Jennings County Health Care Center, North Vernon. Mr. Cole was a 1933 graduate of San Jacinto High School in Jennings County. He was employed by Farm Bureau for 32 years as a petroleum truck driver, retiring Feb. 16, 1976. He was a 50-year member of Butlerville Masonic Lodge 219 and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in North Vernon. He formerly sang bass in a musical group, and enjoyed traveling and riding motorcycles. Born Dec. 18, 1914, in Jennings County, he was the son of Christopher Pleasant Cole and Lucille Maude Featherson Cole, who both preceded him in death. On March 3, 1935, in North Vernon, he married Inez May Fewell, and she survives in North Vernon. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Walker. The Rev. Lance Marshall of First United Methodist Church will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday at the Vernon Cemetery, Vernon. Burial will also be at Vernon Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
