Seymour Daily Tribune January 9, 2007 Merle L. Cooper Aug. 29, 1928 - Jan. 7, 2007 Merle L. "Cookie" Cooper, 78, Seymour, died at 10:40 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mrs. Cooper was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. She had worked at Schneck Medical Center for more than 12 years. Born Aug. 29, 1928, in Jeffersonville, she was a daughter of Harry S. and Lillian Tindell Woodlock, both of whom preceded her in death. On Feb. 4, 1950, in Seymour, she married Walter C. Cooper, who preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Cooper and Beth Ann (Kelly) Pifer; two grandchildren, Michael Cotton and Madison Pifer; two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Mikayla Cotton; a brother, Darrell "Buck" Woodlock; and a special companion, Larry Stockdale. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Harry Woodlock, and three sisters, Luella Retaleato, Rosalie Fuoss and Lillian Woodlock. Father Todd M. Goodson will conduct a memorial Mass at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Seymour. Friends may call from 5:30 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be given through Voss Funeral Service to St. Ambrose Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
