Seymour Daily Tribune January 15, 2002 Nevada Cornelius Nevada Cornelius, 88, Scottsburg, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at Scott County Healthcare Center, Scottsburg. Mrs. Cornelius lived in Russellville, Ky., from 1913 to 1952, then moved to Indianapolis and lived there from 1952 to 1962, where she was a former secretary for the Indiana Driving School. She lived in southern Indiana for the rest of her life and was an active member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses. Born Oct. 25, 1913, in Russellville, Ky., she was a daughter of Albert Elrod and Lydia Pennington. She married Cecil Evy Cornelius, who preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Lenuel E. Cornelius, Newtonville, and C. Noland Cornelius, Tell City; a daughter, Brenda G. King, Lexington; a sister, Rosetta Lyons, Louisville; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Howard Cornelius; two daughters, Nevada Marie and Mary Ann Sugg; two brothers, Aubrey and Albert Elrod; and two sisters, Virginia Fowler and Eva Gibbs. Jeffrey Smith will conduct funeral services at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home, Scottsburg. Burial will be at 10 a.m. (11 a.m. Jackson County time) Thursday at Oak Hill Cemetery, Chrisney. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
