Seymour Daily Tribune Evangeline V. Wheeler Craig October 11, 2006 Nov. 18, 1921 - Oct. 10, 2006 Evangeline V. Wheeler Craig, 85, Seymour, died at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mrs. Craig was a homemaker and owned Millport and Freetown grocery stores. She was of the Nazarene faith. Born Nov. 18, 1921, at Bedford, she was a daughter of Daniel Lyons and Bertha Lytton Lyons, both of whom preceded her in death. In 1938, at Haleysburg, she married Paul L. Wheeler, who survives. She later married Homer Craig, who preceded her in death. Survivors include five children, Jerry M. (Phoebe) Wheeler, Madison, Butch (Cathy) Wheeler, Seymour, Marilyn (Brian) Sherwood, Martinsville, Brenda (Danny) Thompson, Borden, and Mike (Lora) Wheeler, Bedford; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary James, Anderson. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Evangeline Alecia Wheeler; three brothers, John Lyons, Fred Lyons and Gene Lyons; and three sisters, Francis McCannon, Helen Crider and Ruth Bryant. Toney McCutcheon will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
