Seymour Tribune - June 8, 2007 Sue Ann Nehrt Daum March 4, 1938 – June 5, 2007 Sue Ann Nehrt Daum, 69, Columbus, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mrs. Daum was a member of the Indiana State Teacher’s Association and Zonta International. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1956 before receiving her B.S. from Indiana University in 1971 and her M.S. in 1976 also from Indiana University. She taught for Southwestern School Corporation from 1966 to 1971 before teaching with the Flatrock – Hawcreek School Corporation for 35 years with the past 23 years teaching first grade at Cross Cliff Elementary School. She loved animals, especially her dog, “Peekie.” Her hobbies were traveling and reading religious materials and studying scripture. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Born March 4, 1938, in Seymour, she was a daughter of Horace Louis Nehrt and Cordia E. Graff Nehrt, both of whom preceded her in death. On March 1, 1964, she married Ronnie Daum, who preceded her in death in August 1971. Survivors include one brother, Wayne Louis (Maria) Nehrt, Columbus; two sisters, Marian L. (Duane) Miller and Sharon K. Semer, Columbus; nieces and nephews, Sarah (Andrew) Nuxoll, Ann Arbor, Mich., Nathan Louis Nehrt, Bloomington, Michael (Beth) Miller, Columbus, Deanna (Nigel) Russell, Fishers, and Larry D. Simpson, and Brian L. Semer, both of Columbus; and eight great-nieces and nephews. The Rev. Jon Carlstrom will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Columbus. Burial will take place at Garland Brook Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church. Funeral arrangements were handled by Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, Columbus.
