Seymour Tribune - October 30, 2009 Mary (Rhodus) Davis 1921 - 2009 Mary Davis, 87, Crothersville, passed away at 4:08 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at the University of Louisville Hospital. Mrs. Davis had been a resident of Crothersville since 1950. She retired from U.S. Shoe Corp. in 1985, working for 36 years, and was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Crothersville. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, yard work and gardening. Born Jan. 11, 1921, in Richmond, Ky., she was the daughter of Walter and Lillie McDonald Rhodus. On Dec. 13, 1938, she married William Robert Davis, who preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, William Clyde (Janie) Davis, Crothersville; two grandchildren, Anita Kay (Scott E.) Ude, Crothersville, and Tony (Melanie) Davis, Crothersville; two great-grandchildren, Jessica Renee´ Luedeman (Josh Howard), Crothersville, and Taylor Davis, Crothersville; one great-grandchild, Jude Scott Howard, Crothersville; brothers, Lloyd Rhodus and Doug (Johnetta) Rhodus, Cartersville, Ky.; and three sisters, Geneva Fathergill, Cartersville, Ky., Delora Howerton, Maryland, and Joy (Bobby) Lawson, Somerset, Ky. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Lionel, Donald, Jasper and Leo Rhodus. Pastor Rudolph Hamblin will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday at Adams Funeral Home in Crothersville, with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
