Seymour Tribune Woodrow Lee Davis 1946 - 2008 Woodrow "Woody" Lee Davis, 62, Seymour, passed away at 8:35 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Schneck Medical Center. Mr. Davis was a member of Roellen Baptist Church and attended Seymour Christian Church. With an impeccable work ethic, he retired in 2003 after 38 years, from Valeo-Sylvania, Seymour. He was a southern gentleman who took friendships very seriously; he was a friend to all whom he came in contact with. He loved his family and will be greatly missed by them. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. He had a special gift of finding fun in everyday adventures. The love of his family was his greatest treasure. Born in Roellen, Tenn., on Jan. 18, 1946, he was the son of Woodrow Lee, who preceded him in death and Sammie Mai Holland Davis, who survives in Newbern, Tenn. On Aug. 14, 1993, in Columbus, he married Rose Marie Galloway, who survives. Other survivors include three children, Kimberly (Steven) Eller, Tony Davis and Jerrod (Ali) Galloway; two sisters, Joyce (Calvin) Russell and Brenda (Ronnie) Featherston; three grandchildren, Ashley Eller, Michael Eller and Taylor Davis; a niece, Lee Ann Richards; a nephew, Adam (Karin) Featherston; and a very special friend of the family, Lorene Baughman. The Rev. Bill Lockman will conduct funeral services at Voss Chapel, Seymour, at 11 a.m. Saturday. A Voss dove release will follow. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
