Seymour Daily Tribune March 29, 2002 Louise Day Louise Day, 79, North Vernon, died at 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Day was a 1940 graduate of Butlerville High School and was a member of Vernon Baptist Church and North Vernon Order of Eastern Star. She worked for Regal Rugs and Stoner’s Style Shop of North Vernon. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, painting and drawing, baking and being a mother. Born Aug. 26, 1922, at Butlerville, she was a daughter of Russell B. Eakins and Lola Hendricks Eakins. On May 8, 1948, in North Vernon, she married Kenneth “Bud” Day, who survives in North Vernon. Other survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Day, North Vernon; a son, Kenneth Terry Day, Elizabethtown; two granddaughters, Abigail Day, Elizabethtown, and Amberly Day, North Vernon; three grandsons, Daniel Joseph Day, North Vernon, and David A. Day and Stephen W. Day, both of Elizabethtown; two great-grandsons, Chase Day and Tristan Cole Day, both of Vernon; a great-granddaughter, Arlena Christine Day, Vernon; a brother, Russell W. Eakins, North Vernon; and a sister, Lorine Hodell, Fort Wayne. Brian Trotter will conduct services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pickett Funeral Home, North Vernon. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Jennings County.
