Seymour Daily Tribune April 9, 2002 Fred E. Dixon Fred E. Dixon, 67, Columbus, died at 8:41 a.m. Sunday, April 7, 2002, at Columbus Regional Hospital, Columbus. Mr. Dixon co-founded Dixon’s Coatings Inc. and was a co-owner. He retired from Cummins Engine Co. in 1985 after 35 years of service as a mechanical engineer. He was a graduate of Lexington High School and attended IUPUC. He was a member of Crothersville Baptist Church and attended Memorial Baptist Church, Columbus. Born Oct. 13, 1934, in London, Ky., he was a son of the late Paul Joseph Dixon and Jamie (Bowling) Dixon, who survives in Scottsburg. On Dec. 12, 1952, in Blotcher, he married Patricia Harmon and she survives. He also is survived by a son, William E. Dixon, Columbus; two daughters, Lou Ann Bascom, Wauseon, Ohio, and Bobbie K. Ward, Columbus; six grandchildren, Ashely R. Dixon, Cory W. Dixon, Tricia L. Ward and Leslie L. Chapman, all of Columbus, and Brian F. Bascom and Rebecca C. Bascom, both of Wauseon, Ohio; and two sisters, Sue Webster, Charlestown, and Paula Smith, Nabb. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Stidham. The Rev. Brian Teater will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Myers Funeral Service, Hathaway-Myers Chapel, Columbus. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Dialysis Center Fund through the Columbus Regional Hospital Foundation.
