Seymour Daily Tribune Maude Marie Dowling March 29, 1911 – July 10, 2006 Maude Marie Dowling, 95, Crothersville, and formerly of Vallonia, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2006, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mrs. Dowling was a member of Vallonia Christian Church. She was a retired beautician and once owned a beauty shop in Vallonia. Born March 29, 1911, in Jackson County, she was a daughter of William Tidwell and Neil McCory Tidwell Schornick, both of whom preceded him in death. On Sept. 30, 1947, in New Albany, she married Ivan E. “Pop” Dowling, who preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 2000. Survivors include one granddaughter, Jerilyn Masters, Crothersville; two great-grandchildren, Jonathon Masters and Katie Masters, both of Crothersville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry William Steinkamp and Don Steinkamp; one brother, Jack Sullivan; and one sister, Lena O’Hara. The Rev. Mark Wooten will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia. Burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to donors’ choice.
