Seymour Daily Tribune February 13, 2007 Orson Robert Drake April 11, 1916 - Feb. 11, 2007 Orson Robert Drake, 90, of Vallonia and formerly of Anderson, died at 8:34 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mr. Drake worked at Lynch Glass Corp. for 37½ years as a machinist. He was a member of Senior Citizens, a member of the Mixed Bowling League in Seymour, a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Fortville, a 43-year member of the Eagles Lodge in Anderson and a member of the United States Bowling Congress. He had lived in Jackson County since 1986. Born April 11, 1916, in Jasper County, N.Y., he was a son of Silas A. Drake and Maybelle Drake, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 27, 1963, in Anderson, he married Edna McCord Hyland Drake, who died Jan. 24, 2007. Survivors include four children, Robert O. Drake and Mark S. Drake, both of Fortville, Richard E. Drake, Madison, and Gary A. Drake, Greenfield; three stepchildren, Elizabeth Ann Randolph, Santa Claus, Michael James Hyland, Brimington, and Richard Lewis Hyland, Rockport; two half brothers, Jay Drake, Alert, and Jerry Drake, Columbus; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, James Drake, and two stepchildren, Harry Thomas Hyland and Patricia Sue Fisher. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, followed by a memorial service, at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia. Burial will take place at a later date at Daugherty Cemetery in Bartholomew County. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Masonic Home in Franklin.
