Seymour Daily Tribune William Virgil Easter October 9, 2006 Nov. 24, 1916 - Oct. 7, 2006 William Virgil "Wimpy" Easter, 89, Seymour, died at 12:41 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mr. Easter was a member of Brown's Corner Chapel, where he worked with the Bible school programs and took care of the church grounds for many years. He was a lifelong farmer in Jackson and Jennings counties and was very close to his family. Born Nov. 24, 1916, in Seymour, he was a son of Perry and Flossie Marie Helt Easter, both of whom preceded him in death. On Oct. 6, 1939, in Elizabethtown, he married the former Florence Parker and they were married for 68 years. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, David (Mary) Easter, Scipio, and Marvin Easter, Columbus; two sisters, Evelyn (William) Brooks, Seymour, and Veleta Madden, Union Hill, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Allen Easter, Scipio, Terry (Shelley) Easter, North Vernon, William Easter, Scipio, Candice (Marshall) Bowling, North Vernon, Eric Easter, Seymour, and Tonya Mann, North Vernon; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Easter; a sister, Mary Ritz; and a son, Donald Easter. The Rev. Dick Stolle will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, Seymour. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Reddington Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Brown's Corner Chapel or to the donor's choice.
