Seymour Daily Tribune Maxine Elkins August 23, 2006 Maxine Elkins, 84, Seymour, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, at Lutheran Community Home. Mrs. Elkins was an owner of Brown's Grocery and Jay's Market before retiring in 1982. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Seymour. Born May 9, 1922, at Salem, she was a daughter of Evrett Morris and Edith Harned Morris Collins, both of whom preceded her in death. On Aug. 12, 1950, in Seymour, she married Jim Elkins. He died July 9, 1989. Survivors include two children, Brenda K. Stuckwisch and Dennis J. Elkins, both of Seymour; three grandchildren, Scott (Janell) Stuckwisch and Doug Stuckwisch, Union, Ky., and Nikki Stuckwisch (Alex Djuricich), Greenwood; two great-granddaughters, Audrey Djuricich and Samantha Stuckwisch, and a sister, Jean (Jack) Gobel, Seymour. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Kenneth E. Stuckwisch; and a brother, Dennis Morris. The Rev. Steve Cherry will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at Voss Funeral Service, Seymour. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church or Lutheran Community Home.
