June 27, 2005 The Rev. Robert E. Emily Nov. 30, 1927 – June 26, 2005 The Rev. Robert E. Emily, 77, Seymour, died at 2:50 a.m. Sunday, June 26, 2005. Mr. Emily worked for Arvin Industries in the shipping department for 22 years, retiring in 1977, and then worked for Reliance Electric for 13 years, retiring in 1990. After his second retirement, he worked for Gene B. Glick Co. in maintenance at the Jamestown Apartments in Seymour for 13 years, retiring in 2003. The Rev. Emily was a licensed minister for the United Pentecostal Church, International, served as pastor of Scottsburg Apostolic Church for 13 years and was a member of Freetown Pentecostal Church. Born Nov. 30, 1927, at Indianapolis, he was a son of Charles and Mary Reynolds Emily, both of whom preceded him in death. On May 10, 1952, in Seymour Christ Temple, he was married to Nadine V. Gray by the Rev. Dewey Allman, and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Pamela Stringer (Alan) and Kimela Stringer (George); three grandchildren, Arrica Farrar (Adam), Brent Stringer and Andrea Stringer; two great-grandchildren, Drake and Shaina Farrar; a brother, Samuel Emily; and a sister, Juanita Cornett (Bill). Bishop Neal McCory, the Rev. Tim Brown and the Rev. Dennis Allman will conduct funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Freetown Pentecostal Church. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will take place at White River Valley Cemetery north of Medora. Memorial contributions may be made to Freetown Pentecostal Church or Jackson County Hospice. Shirley Brothers Thompson Road Chapel, Indianapolis, is in charge of arrangements.
