Laura V. Ewing, wife of Francis M. Ewing, deceased, was born in Cincinnati, O., Aug. 21, 1855, died Feb. 6, 1913, at her home in Vallonia after a lingering illness of several years; age 57 years, 5 months, and 5 days. Deceased was a resident of Vallonia the greater part of her life, during which time she was always a good and faithful neighbor, and with her patient and pleasing disposition won many friends. The funeral services were conducted at the Vallonia M. E. Church Saturday, February 8, 1913, at 1 o'clock, p. m. Rev. J. W. Whitted, officiating, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Vallonia cemetery. She leaves to mourn her loss five children, Will and Ella, of Vallonia, Thos. J. of North Vernon, Ralph, of Pueblo, Col., and Mrs. Mayme Meahl, of Birmingham, Ala., besides a number of relations and a host of friends.
