Ewing, 83, of 820 McDonald St, Seymour, died at 4:02 p.m. Sunday at Jackson County Schneck Memorial Hospital. He was ill for one week. Mr. Ewing was a retired carpenter and a member of Carpenter's Union Local 1775. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Born in Washington County on Sept. 12, 1901, he was a son of Thomas Edison and Elizabeth Thomas Ewing. he lived most of his live in Jackson County. He married Bertha Berniece Killion November 27, 1936. His wife preceded him in death December 13, 1966. Mr. Ewing is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Chester (Ruth) Tracy of Seymour R6 and Mrs. Maurice (Shirley) Robison of Seymour; two brothers, Roy at Vallonia and Charles of Seymour; a sister, Mrs. Flora Pugh of Vallonia; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Elsie Ewing; a daughter, Mrs. Imogene Jackson; and a brother. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel, Seymour, with the Rev. Stewart H. Silver officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be contributed to First Baptist Church or First Church of the Nazarene.
