Seymour Daily Tribune Sylvia Marie Farmer May 6, 1932 – July 6, 2006 Sylvia Marie Farmer, 74, formerly of Seymour, died at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2006, at Millers Merry Manor, in Hope. Mrs. Farmer attended Emanuel High School in Indianapolis and was employed at Dinner Bell Restaurant in Salem for several years and at Betty’s Townhouse Restaurant in Seymour from 1988 until 1991. She loved to fish, play bingo and crochet. Born May 6, 1932, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Henry and Nina Cassetty, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Frank L. Farmer on March 16, 1951, in Indianapolis, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1964. Survivors include three daughters, Sharon M. (Jim) Woodmansee, Hope, Jeanette L. (Bob) Walker, Seymour, and Brenda K. Adamson, Martinsville; a son, Frank L. Farmer, Indianapolis; five grandchildren, John (Mary) Kunkel, Chicago, Brad and Ashley Farmer, both of Fortville, and Cassandra and Cameron Adamson, both of Martinsville; a great-grandson; Jared McRoberts, Chicago; a brother, Thurman Cassetty, Indianapolis; a sister, Norma Long, Port Richie, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Constance Farmer; two grandsons, Ted Sutton and Jason Adamson, a sister; Ruby Faulkner; and four brothers; George, Raymond, Ernest and Everett Cassetty. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, Seymour, with hospice chaplain Barbara Grace officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, after the service. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or to donor’s choice.
