Seymour Daily Tribune Judith Whitaker Foist July 12, 1939 – July 11, 2006 Judith Whitaker Foist, 66, Greenwood, died Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at her residence. Mrs. Foist grew up in Southport and attended kindergarten through 11th grade there before graduating from Speedway High School. She completed the Indiana University Dental Assistant Course and worked in a dental office. She was a teacher aide and secretary at Clinton Young Elementary School and retired as a secretary with the Perry Township Schools student services office. She worked five years as a secretary/receptionist at Greenwood Village South. She spent winters in her condominium in Section 1, Highpoint West, Delray Beach, Fla., and attended First Baptist Church there. She spent summer vacations on the family farm at Reddington. Mrs. Foist was a member of Greenwood Christian Church, Seymour Chapter 134- Order of Eastern Star and the Royal Plumes Red Hat Society. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, being a member of the Corvette Club, oil painting, square and ballroom dancing, taking time share vacations and traveling. Born July 12, 1939, in Marion County, she was a daughter of Charles G. and Lois (Price) Whitaker, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married for twenty-four years to Kenneth E. Helton. She then married Gilbert O. Key, Gallatin, Tenn., who also preceded her in death. She then married John W. Foist, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Kenneth S. Helton, Indianapolis, and Jeffrey C. Helton, Lakeland, Fla.; one daughter, Jill A. Caughey, Indianapolis; a step-daughter, Lori A. Thompson, Greenfield; five grandchildren; four brothers, Donald E. Whitaker, Augusta, Ga., William E. Whitaker, Manteca, Calif., James G. Whitaker, Whiteland, and Wayne T. Whitaker, Greenwood. She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles R. Whitaker. The Rev. Shan Rutherford will conduct a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
