Forrest Sr., 80, of Seymour R3, died at 11:20 p.m. Friday at Jackson County Schneck Memorial Hospital after a one-year illness. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, was retired from Agrico, Seymour, and was a member of the American Legion, Seymour. Mr. Forrest was born on March 16, 1909, in Jackson County, to George Frank and Alta Foster Forrest. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County He married Elizabeth Bryant on October 12, 1928, in Brownstown. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ben (Alice) McKinney, Seymour; four sons George Forrest, Forrest, Ill.; Earl Forrest Jr. II, Hayden; Kenneth Forrest, Dixon, Mo.; and Jerry Forrest, Long Beach, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. The Rev. Sam Davenport will officiate. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, with graveside military rites. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
