Seymour Tribune - May 15, 2009 Ella Mae (Stewart) Fox 1915 - 2009 Ella Mae Stewart Fox, 93, Cantonment, Fla., passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at a local hospital, to join her son, John Vance Fox, and husband, Willard A. "Boots" Fox, both of whom preceded her in death. She left behind one daughter, Mary Alyce (Donald F.) Rebber, Cantonment, and two sons, Thomas S. (Jo), Glasgow, Ky., and Joe S. Fox, Foley, Ala. "Granny" was blessed with several grandchildren, Natalie Rebber McDonald, Cantonment, Kimberly Rebber Richey, New Burn, N.C., Donald F. and Cindy Rebber Jr., Navarre Beach, Fla., Jason Rebber, Cantonment, Tammy Fox Bradley, Indianapolis, Tina Fox Easley, Seymour, Thomas S. and Donna Fox II, Scottsburg, Jonnie Bray Fox, Columbus, Valerie Hammonds, Pikeville, Ky., Katheryn Hammonds, Louisville, Ky., and Rebecca and Andrea Fox, Foley, Ala., as well as 15 great-grandchildren of whom she was extremely proud. Ella Mae was born Dec. 31, 1915, to John V. and Muriel Bray Stewart of Sparksville. Her childhood and adult years were spent in Seymour. Upon the death of her husband, she moved with the twins, Joe and John, to Madeira Beach, Fla., in 1964. She worked for many years in the Cajon Diner of Madeira Beach. Ella Mae retired from the diner and went to live with Mary, Don and children. They moved to Cantonment in 1978. Granny was well known for her keen sense of humor and quick wit. She touched not only lives but hearts as well and enjoyed everyone. She spent many hours reading novels and watching the news channels. She enjoyed keeping everyone up to date on the political front and daily affairs. We will all miss seeing her sitting at the kitchen table drinking her Coke and sharing her stories of old and not to mention those who enjoyed her midnight ice cream raids. We miss her already. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North in Cantonment, Fla. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
