John Gambill

John Gambill, 85, Austin, died at 10:20 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, at Scott Memorial Hospital, Scottsburg.
Mr. Gambill was retired from Morgan Foods.
Born July 24, 1921, in Perry County, Ky., he was the son of Walter and Hannah Miller Gambill, both of whom preceded him in death.
Survivors include nine daughters, Ruthie Caudell, Rosie Polly, Delphia White, Margie Marshall, Jenny White, Nellie White and Glenna Mize, all of Austin, and Mary Allen and Imogene Hall, both of Scottsburg; four sons, Beacher Gambill, Des Plaines, Ill., and Marvin Gambill, Wallace Gambill and Bernice Gambill, all of Austin; 34 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Terry Eversole will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Monday at Buchanan Funeral Home, Austin. Burial will be at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Austin.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
