Seymour Daily Tribune March 11, 2002 Dorothy E. Gambrel Dorothy E. Gambrel, 81, Crothersville, died at 3:05 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2002, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown. Mrs. Gambrel was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith. She was a CB enthusiast and her handle was “Wild Rose.” Born Nov. 14, 1920, in Shelbyville, she was a daughter of Charles McCalip and Martha Delaney McCalip. On Oct. 14, 1939, she married Max Elmer Gambrel, who survives. Other survivors include three sons, Max (Judy) Gambrel and Joseph (Linda) Gambrel, both of Seymour, and David (Linda) Gambrel, Crothersville; two daughters, Phyllis (Allen) Reeves, Conneaut, Ohio, and Kathy (Steve) Stidam, Medora; 23 grandchildren; and 61 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; two sons, Charles Gambrel and John William Gambrel; and a grandson, Daniel Alexander Gambrel. The Rev. Alex McIntosh was to conduct services at 11 a.m. today at Adams Funeral Home, Crothers-ville. Burial was to be in Russell Chapel Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
