Sally Marie Garris

Sally Marie Garris, 81, Columbus, died at 4 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at her residence.
Mrs. Garris had worked for Cummins Engine Company for 38 years from April 30, 1945, to Aug. 3, 1983. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of the local VFW and the Diesel Workers Union. After retirement from Cummins, she moved to Clearwater, Fla., and moved back to Columbus in 2003.
Born Nov. 10, 1924, she was a daughter of Charles M. and Elizabeth M. Sewell Goen, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 6, 1942, she married Robert "Bob" Garris, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Paula Garris, New Oxford, Pa.; one brother, Raymond (Marilyn) Pennington, Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
The Rev. Brian Buterbaugh will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Myers-Reed Dignity Memorial Chapel, 25th Street, Columbus. Burial will take place at Garland Brook Cemetery, Columbus.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
