Seymour Tribune - December 2008 Steven W. Gray 1946 - 2008 Steven W. Gray, 62, Freetown, passed away at 4:04 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mr. Gray retired as a truck driver for West Trucking in Columbus. He graduated from Brownstown High School in 1964, served in the U.S. Army Reserve for seven years, was an officer for the Jackson County Sheriff's Department from 1972 to 1973, and worked for Rose Acre Farms and Forster Electric, Columbus. Steve was a member of Freetown Baptist Church. Born in Seymour on May 7, 1946, he was the son of Joseph "Joe" and Nellie Smith Gray White. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Freetown. He is also survived by step-father, Don White. On Sept. 18, 1999, he married Jenny Wehmiller in Tampico, and she survives. He was formerly married to Carol Sue Anderson Nichalson. Other survivors include two sons, Chad (Chris) Gray and Jeremy (Sonya) Gray; two grandchildren, Jenna Gray and Phoebe Gray; three stepchildren, Charity Lynch, Jake Stice and Jarod Wince; and two sisters, Jane Baker and Jan Rose. The Rev. Joe Caplinger and Rev. Chuck Romans will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Pianist will be Tom Wince. A Voss dove release will follow. Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
