Seymour Daily Tribune January 3, 2007 James Earl Greathouse March 24, 1941 - Dec. 27, 2006 James Earl Greathouse, 65, Crothersville, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, at Scott Memorial Hospital, Scottsburg. Mr. Greathouse was a member of First Baptist Church, Crothersville. He was a lifetime member and past president of the Tri County Conservation Club and was also the Town Marshall and worked for the city until his illness in 1982. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Born March 24, 1941, in Jennings County, he was a son of James Cecil and Helen Lucille (Dart) Greathouse. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives. He was the husband of Kim J. (Barnett) Greathouse. They were married Dec. 1, 1979, in Austin Christian Church by Ralph Hunter and Harold Barnett. Survivors include one daughter, Amber Dawn (David) Chandler, Crothersville; one sister, Carol (James) Anthony, Crothersville; two brothers, Curtis (Marie) Greathouse, and Mark Greathouse, both of Crothersville; two aunts, Doris Dart Applegate, Austin, and Roberta (Ralph) Hunter, Mt. View, Mo.; one uncle, Lawrence (Annabell) Dart, Crothersville and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Curtis Burlie and Nancy Opal Dart and Leonard and Margaret Greathouse. The Rev. Jon Perce and Rev. Dave Huey conducted funeral services Saturday at Buchanan Funeral Home, Austin.
