Seymour Tribune - August 28, 2009 Katie Branaman Hamilton Katie Branaman Hamilton, 94, formerly of Medora, passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown. Born May 21, 1915, in Leesville, she was the daughter of Moses Branaman and Ruth Ellen Edwards Branaman, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Melvin Hamilton on June 8, 1929, and he preceded her in death in January 2000. She also was preceded in death by a son, Robert Glen Hamilton; four brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include one son, Tom (Janet) Hamilton of Yuba City, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Betty Jane Hamilton of Medora; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Katie always had a smile, hug and kind words for everyone. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening. She also was very happy and involved with her life at Hoosier Christian Village. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday and from noon until 1 p.m. Thursday at Hague Funeral Home, Medora. Morris Tippin will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Dixon Chapel Cemetery, Lawrence County.
