Seymour Daily Tribune January 22, 2002 James Lee Hardin James Lee Hardin, 57, Scottsburg, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at his home. He had lived in Scott County since 1984. He was a retired truck driver for Active Transportation Co., Inc. in Louisville, Ky. and a member of the Teamsters Local 89. He was a member of the American Martyrs Catholic Church in Scottsburg. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam era. Born Aug. 5, 1944, in Jeffersonville, he was the son of Rufus L. Hardin and Laverne C. Gunther. He married S. Kay Styers and she survives. Other survivors include two stepsons, Jeff Fortner and Craig Fortner, both of Scottsburg; four sisters, Bessie Blanton Davidson, Scottsburg, Gloria Neal, Charlestown, Lora L. Hardin, New Albany, and Cathy Hardin, Porterville, Calif.; three brothers, Lynn Hardin, Lexington, Mike Hardin, Memphis, Ind., and John Hardin, Charlestown; and five grandchildren. The Rev. Thomas L. Schliessmann will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the American Martyrs, Scottsburg. Burial will be in Scottsburg Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Crothersville VFW Post 1083. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Home, Scottsburg.
