Seymour Daily Tribune Keith D. Hauer October 18, 2006 Dec. 8, 1929 - Oct. 17, 2006 Keith D. Hauer, 76, Brownstown, died at 11:13 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Hauer served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He was a member of Brownstown United Methodist Church. He was owner/operator of Keith's Standard Service in Brownstown for 33 years. He then was employed at Bob Thomas Chevrolet and then Brian Bowman Chevrolet. Born Dec. 8, 1929, at Vallonia, he was a son of Tilford and Lillian Graham Hauer, both of whom preceded him in death. On Oct. 3, 1953, in Jackson County, he married Elizabeth Joy Verble Hauer, who survives at Brownstown. Other survivors include four children, Jack D. (Lydia) Hauer and Tracy Ann (Richard) Troxell, both of Seymour, and Michael R. (Debbie) Hauer and Brian Keith (Rachel) Hauer, both of Vallonia; five brothers, Carl Hauer, Richard Hauer and Michael B. Hauer, all of Vallonia, Kenneth Hauer, Morgantown, and Steve Hauer, Scottsburg; a sister, Pat (Dale) Shepard, Brownstown; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Tilford Hauer Jr., Ricky Hauer and Melvin Hauer. The Rev. Robert Riggs will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia. Burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Schneck Medical Center Hospice.
