Seymour Daily Tribune Linda L. Hauer 8/10/2006 April 11, 1938 - Aug. 8, 2006 Linda L. Hauer, 68, of Vallonia died at 5:27 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mrs. Hauer was a member of Kansas Church of Christ, Salem, and formerly worked at the shirt factory in Seymour, Leweb in Salem and currently worked for Cracker Barrel in Seymour for nine and a half years as a prep cook. Born April. 11, 1938, at Salem, she was the daughter of Harmon Bowers, who preceded her in death, and Lucille Voyles Bowers, who survives in Salem. She lived in Washington and Jackson counties all of her life. On April 6, 1974, she married Howard Lee "Reece" Hauer. He died March 30, 2006. Survivors include two children, Mark (Dee) Whitt, Salem, and Debra (Kevin) Whitsitt, Deputy; two sisters, Pat Bowers and Janet (David) Adkins, both of Salem; two grandchildren CR (Kim) Mitchell and Matthew Mitchell, both of Houston, Ind.; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Mitchell and Emma Kay Mitchell, both of Houston, Ind. A sister, Carolyn Bowers, preceded her in death. The Rev. Johnny Johnson will conduct services at 11 a.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia, with burial in Vallonia Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Jackson County Humane Society or donor's choice.
