This was submitted by:  Janet (Hawkins) Endris. MRS. HAWKINS DIES AT HOME IN HELTONVILLE Mrs. Florna Mae Hawkins passed away at her home in Heltonville Saturday after a brief illness. Mrs. Hawkins had been in failing health for several months and after contracting pneumonia five days ago fought a losing fight, the end coming as stated. The deceased was born May 18, 1887, to John and Sarah Loudermilk Fiedler in Jackson county. She was united in marriage to Samuel D. Hawkins October 10, 1904 and is survived by the husband, two sons, Mancel of Bedford and Estel, of Heltonville, three daughters, Mrs. Bruce Hamer, of Washington, D.C., Misses Mary and Juanita Hawkins at home, mother Mrs, Sarah Jones, half brother Welcome Jones, step sister, Mrs. Samuel Weddle, of Medora, thirteen grandchildren, uncle Gordon Loudermilk and aunt, Miss Tillie Loudermilk of Clear Springs. Mrs. Hawkins was reared in the home of her uncle and aunt, who lavished a wealth of affection upon her. Mrs. Hawkins was greatly beloved by all and her passing after such a brief illness came as a great shock to her wide circle of friends. She was a member of the Baptist church holding membership at Clear Springs and lived a life of Christian devotion. The remains were cared for at the Leston Jones funeral home in Heltonville, and were later returned to the home where a brief prayer service was held today at noon, following which the funeral party left for the Baptist church at Clear Springs where services were conducted at 1 p.m. Rev. Ray Banks conducted the services and interment took place in the adjoining cemetery. HAWKINS RITES THIS AFTERNOON Services Held At Mooney Baptist Church In Clear Springs At 1 P.M. Mrs. Samuel David Hawkins, who had been in failing health for the past year and in a critical condition for five days after she had developed pneumonia, passed away Saturday, July 2nd, at her home in Heltonville. Flona May Siegler was born in Jackson count, Indiana, May 18, 1887 to John and Sarah Lowdermilk Seigler. She was married October 10, 1904 at Brownstown to Samuel David Hawkins. She was of a loving disposition and all of her energies were expended in making a shrine of her home for husband and children. She was beloved by neighbors and friends. She was a devout member of the Mooney Baptist Church at Springville. She is survived by the husband, sons Estel and Mansell, three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Hanner of Washington, D.C., Mary and Juanita at home, aged mother, Mrs. Sarah Jones, aunt Miss Tullie Loudermilk and uncle Gordon Loudermilk of Clear Springs, Jackson county, a half brother Welcome Jones, of Cincinnati, Ohio, a step-sister Mrs. Sam Weddell, of Medora and three grandchildren. The funeral was conducted today at 1 p.m. at the Mooney Baptist Church in Clear Springs with the Rev. Ray Banks in charge. Short services were held at the home prior to the formal services.
