Seymour Daily Tribune January 12, 2007 Francis M. Henderson Jan. 1, 1915 - Jan. 13, 2007 Francis M. Henderson, 92, died Jan. 13, 2007, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mr. Henderson was a U.S. Navy veteran and a Merchant Marine before and during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans History Project of the Library of Congress, Nebraska Real Estate Association, past president of Omaha Organ Society, St. Vincent de Paul of Omaha, Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Douglas County REACT and the Nebraska Navy USS Concord Reunion Group. He loved to play the organ at the local nursing home in Omaha, serving as a reading tutor for grade school children, participating in the church choir and gardening. Born Jan. 1, 1915, in Bedford, Iowa, he was a son of Francis Elmer and Elda Stickelman Henderson, both of whom preceded him in death. On Sept. 2, 1940, in Maloy, Iowa, he married Helen Beatrice Hull, who died Jan. 5, 2002. Survivors include two daughters, Judith A. Henderson (Carl) Fosbrink, Seymour, and Mary Louise (Steve) LaMontia, Estes Park, Colo.; three grandchildren, Brian Styskal, Issaquah, Wash., Christopher (Carol), Estes Park, Colo., and Nicholas (Tara) LaMontia, Houston, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Maddie and Maici LaMontia and Nicky LaMontia; and a brother, Wilbur Henderson and family, Wymor, Neb. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Francis Henderson, and a sister, Beatrice Henderson. Services will be held at Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel, Clarinda, Iowa Voss Funeral Service, Seymour, is in charge of local arrangements.
