Seymour Daily Tribune January 7, 2002 Dan Hendrix Jr. Dan Hendrix Jr., 69, Seymour, died at 5:55 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, in Seymour. He had been in failing health for three years. He served in the Korean War and retired from Cummins Engine Co. in 1987. He worked at Hendrix Pool as plant manager and construction coordinator. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Eagles Club, all of Seymour, and was also a member of the Diesel Union. Born June 26, 1932, in Big Rock, Ky., he was a son of Dan F. Hendrix Sr. and Joann Caudill Hendrix. He was formerly married to Dee Taylor Hendrix Waldkoetter, who survives in Seymour. Survivors include Carol Holley, Seymour; two daughters, Juvonda (Ed) Jones and Karen (Gary Lemon) Smith, both of Seymour; six sons, Dwight (Jennifer) Hendrix, Scott (Ruth Ann) Hendrix and Steven (Lori) Holley, all of Seymour, Joe (Connie) Holley, Texas, Dean (Kathy) Holley, Kokomo, and Brad (Janean) Holley, Logansport; three brothers, George (Sue) Hendrix, William Hendrix and Larry Hendrix, all of Harrodsburg, Ky.; a sister, Mrs. Willie (Juanita) Day, Stanford, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Claudette Hendrix, Seymour; 25 grandchildren, Jaymie, Jessica, Jayson and Jonathan Meyer, Jessica and Samantha Jones, Aaron, Courtney, Kadin, Skye, Elias and Moriah Hendrix, Kristina Beach, Alison Smith, Joseph, Andrew, Katie, Shelby, Dean, Amber, Adam, Peggy Sue, Jesse, Benjamin and Jacob Holley; and a great-grandson, Brock Whitsett. A brother, Lawrence “L.K.” Hendrix, Sr., preceded him in death. The Rev. Andrew Currao and the Rev. Paul Schlueter will conduct funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Vietnam Veterans 7, all of Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Laura Culp Cancer Fund.
