Seymour Daily Tribune January 24, 2007 Dorothy Hercamp Sept. 4, 1921 - Jan. 23, 2007 Dorothy "Dot" Hercamp, 85, Seymour, died at 6:02 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at Lutheran Community Home. Mrs. Hercamp was a member of Rockford United Methodist Church. She worked at Gerwin Shoe Co. and retired from Amoco after 11 years of service. Born Sept. 4, 1921, in Jackson County, she was a daughter of Ernest and Gertrude Burns McKain, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 1, 1939, in Old Vernon, she married Malcom James Hercamp, who preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra DeSpain, Greenwood; two sons, James (Brenda) Hercamp, Indianapolis, and Jack (Bea) Hercamp, Seymour; eight grandchildren, Robert DeSpain, Phil DeSpain, James DeSpain, Aaron DeSpain, Michael Hercamp, Rhonda Marie Hercamp, Cody Hercamp and John Hercamp; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond McKain, Damon McKain and Eugene "Butterbean" McKain; three sisters, Lenora McKain Allman, Ruth McKain Elkins and Eva McKain; and a son-in-law, Robert DeSpain. The Rev. Rosa Harris will conduct funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Rockford United Methodist Church Building Fund or Lutheran Community Home.
