Seymour Tribune - June 6, 2007 Geneva M. Heyob April 30, 1919 – June 1, 2007 Geneva M. Heyob, 88, Highland Calif., passed away Friday, June 1, 2007. She was the last of the Largent family from Seymour. Mrs. Heyob graduated from Shields High School and then attended and graduated from The Indianapolis City Hospital School for Nurses, in 1940. She worked as a registered nurse in Indianapolis until she retired from Wishard Memorial Hospital, as assistant director of nursing services, in July 1981. She was always active in civic affairs, which included serving from 1990 to 1994 as a member of the Indiana Health Facilities Council at the request of Gov. Evan Bayh. She was United Senior Action vice president and Lobby Team Committee chair. She moved to California in 1996 and served as a member of The City of Rancho Cucamonga Senior Advisory Committee and assisted with planning for the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center. She attended Rancho Cucamonga Methodist Church. Born April 30, 1919, in Seymour, she was a daughter of Logan and Hazel Largent. Geneva has three sons who continue through life without her, Mike (Pamela) Kord, Rancho Cucamonga, Don R. (Karen) Kord, Indianapolis, and Max W.(Annette) Kord, Highland, Calif.; her grandchildren, Diana, Donna, Ron, Christopher, Patrick, Mike, Karol, Korey, John, Eric, Scott and Jason; and her many great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Logan Jr., and two sisters, Evelyn Woehrman and Virginia Williams. The Rev. Rick Wilson of First Church of the Nazarene will conduct graveside services at 11 a.m. Friday at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Burkholder Funeral Home, Seymour.
