Seymour Daily Tribune May 20, 2002 Earl Hoyt Hicks Earl Hoyt Hicks, 71, Fort Wayne, died at 12.15 p.m. Saturday, May 18. 2002, at the home of his son. Mr. Hicks was employed at Address-O-Graph and Flash Fold Box, and retired from Thompson Printing, all of Fort Wayne. He was a 1948 graduate of Armuchee High School, Rome, Ga., and was a U.S. Marine veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 296 in Fort Wayne, where he also coached Little League baseball for over 13 years. He also enjoyed golf. Born Aug. 11, 1930, in Shannon, Ga., he was a son of John and Beatrice Day Hicks, who both preceded him in death. He is survived by a son, Greg Hicks, North Vernon; a daughter-in-law, Nita Hicks, North Vernon; two grandchildren, Zachary Hicks and Mariah Hicks, both of North Vernon; a brother, Grady Hicks, Albany, Ga.; a sister, Ellazine Parks, Fort Wayne; and a niece in nephew in Georgia. He also was preceded by a brother, A.Z. Hicks. Damon Marling will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home, North Vernon. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery, Vernon. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Jennings County or the American Cancer Society, through the funeral home.
