The Tribune March 18, 2016 Seymour, Indiana Charles L. "Mousie" Hines 1934 - 2016 Charles L. "Mousie" Hines, 82, of Seymour "crossed the checkered flag into Heaven" on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at home surrounded by his family. Born March 10, 1934, in Jennings County, he was the son of Melvin and Edith Glasson Hines, both of whom preceded him in death. On May 23, 1953, in Seymour, he married Joan L. Woodruff who survives. Mousie retired from Cummins in 1991 and was dogcatcher for the city of Seymour from 1969 to 1979. He dearly loved his grandchildren and dirt track auto racing, cutting wood, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 655 and Central Christian Church. Other survivors besides his wife of 62 years include his children, Vicki Jo Fields, Richard "Rick" (Janice) Hines, Donald (Jan) Hines and Wendy "Sues" Blackwell; eight grandchildren, Alisha (Greg) Roberts, Jeremy (Carrie) Hines, Joe Hines, Aaron Fields, Jacoby (Kristi) Hines, Samantha Huls, Ryan Hines and Tom Hines; eight great-grandchildren, Tyla Roberts, Emma Hines, Lucas Hines, Kendra Fields, Ashtyn Allman, Titus Roberts, Ella Hines and Haylee Hines; brother, Lloyd (June) Hines; sisters, Lillian (Don) Boaz, Marilyn (Ron) Boardman and Margaret (Mike) Kiemeyer; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Hines; and sister, Lois King. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Central Christian Church and those attending are asked to use Westgate entrance. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Voss Chapel, Seymour, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.
