George R. Hobson
George R. Hobson, 71, Seymour, passed away at 10:24 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
He was a member of Central Christian Church, Seymour, and Paoli United Methodist Church. He was an industrial supervisor for Cummins Inc. and retired from the Indiana Department of Correction.
Mr. Hobson graduated from Bedford High School in 1955.
Born May 15, 1937, in Paoli, he was the son of Elmer and Crystal Gilliatt Hobson. On Nov. 27, 1982, he married Patsy Myers Hobson.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Patsy; three daughters, Tammy Sassman, Debbie (Andy) Gerdes and Anita (Mike) Watson; a stepson, Dewayne Sawyer; a brother, Ron (Dana) Hobson; two sisters, Sonja (Randy) Guffey and Brenda (Mike) Isaacs; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepson, Darryl Sawyer.
Pastor Jon Carlstrom will conduct a memorial service to celebrate George's life at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel, Seymour.
