Seymour Daily Tribune March 5, 2002 Mabel W. Hoene Mabel W. Hoene, 80, Seymour, died at 10 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2002, at Memorial Hospital, Seymour. Mrs. Hoene was a homemaker and was a 1939 graduate of Cortland High School. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Borchers; Mary-Martha Circle; Kum Join Us Extension Homemakers; and Farm Bureau. Born July 30, 1921, in Jackson County, she was a daughter of Alfred Moorman and Mary Kleffman Moorman. On Nov. 1, 1942, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Borchers, she married Wilmer L. Hoene, who died April 10, 1991. Survivors include two sons, Gilbert W. Hoene (wife, Connie) and Phillip J. Hoene (wife, Jennie), both of Seymour; a daughter, Brenda E. Neawedde (husband, Roger), Lakeland, Fla.; six grandchildren, Brent Hoene, Benjamin Hoene, Jodi and Pamela Neawedde, Shawn Akemon and Cami Hoene; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Moorman (wife, Betty), Seymour; a sister, Mary Katherine Wessel (husband, Richard), Vallonia; a brother-in-law, Alvin Hoene (wife, Betty), Seymour; and several nieces and nephews. The Rev. Robert H. Sullivan will conduct services at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Borchers. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Borchers. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Myers Funeral Service, Burkholder Chapel, Seymour, and from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church. Memorials may be given to Lutheran Bible Translator or the USO (United Service Organization).
