Seymour Daily Tribune Philip L. Honeycutt Aug. 30, 1933 – July 6, 2006 Philip L. Honeycutt, 72, North Vernon, died at 10:43 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2006, at Seymour. Born Aug. 30, 1933, in Indianapolis, he was the son of William and Oma (Brown) Honeycutt, who both preceded him in death. He served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1956, and married Katherine May Thompson on Aug. 30, 1957, in Indianapolis. He was currently employed at North Vernon Beverage, where he was known as “the Professor” because of his age and knowledge. He loved to play golf and watch sports. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Debbie Edwards, Indianapolis, and Terri (Dean) Fugate, Seymour; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Chickie Carnes of Indiana. He was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bryan Trotter officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 11 a.m. until time of service at Burkholder Funeral Chapel. Burial will take place at Bennett Cemetery, Shelbyville, after the service. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
