Seymour Daily Tribune February 19, 2002 Marie Hopkins Marie Hopkins, 83, Seymour, who had been living in Melrose Park, Ill., for the past six months, died at 12:25 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at West Suburban Hospital, Oak Park, Ill. Mrs. Hopkins was a homemaker and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Born May 2, 1918, in Johnson County, Tenn., she was the daughter of George Dewey Hodge and Roxie Belle Sells. On March 22, 1942, in Montgomery, W.Va., she married James O. Hopkins, who died Nov. 29, 1988. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Calhoun (husband, Richard), Melrose Park, Ill.; four sons, James O. Hopkins Jr. (wife, Glenna), Fort Wayne, John P. Hopkins (wife, Belinda), Reddington, Joe H. Hopkins (wife, Deborah), Columbus, and Jeff M. Hopkins (wife, Cindy), Seymour; nine grandchildren, Daniel, Hayli, Jacob, Joshua, Mark, Melissa, Nathan, Sara and Zachary; a great-granddaughter, Kaelie Hopkins; and a brother, Herbert Hodge (wife, Bonnie), Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Bobby Hodge. The Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, the Rev. Philip Bloch and Vicar Jimmy Rodriguez will conduct services at 11 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Service, Burkholder Chapel, Seymour, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church.
