Johnny Horton

Johnny Horton, 75, Norman, died at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.
Mr. Horton attended Midway Apostolic Church and was a farmer.
Born Feb. 28, 1931, at Sneedsville, Tenn., he was a son of Henry Horton and Georgia Collins, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 28, 1979, in Jackson County, he married Alberta Carmichael, who survives.
Other survivors include a son, Jonathan (Willow) Horton, Scottsburg; two brothers, Larry (Lucille) Horton and Roger (Ruth) Horton, both of Bedford; two sisters, Lucinda Wheeler, Salem, and Mary Harper, Kentucky; and two grandchildren, Bradley March and Brian March.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Kelly Horton, Buford Horton and Charlie Horton, and two sisters, Marie Robertson and Florine Bryant.
James Carmichael will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Brownstown. Burial will take place at Clearspring Cemetery, Norman.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the family.
