Seymour Tribune - May 31, 2007 Dorothy E. Howard April 26, 1924 – May 30, 2007 Dorothy E. (Dottie) Howard, 83, Seymour, passed away at 12:15 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, at Covered Bridge Health Campus, Seymour. Mrs. Howard was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Seymour. She was secretary-treasurer of Seymour Auto Supply until 1984. She was a founding member of the All Thumbs Garden Club and a Pink Lady with 4,406 hours of volunteer service at Schneck Medical Center. Her other interests were crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting, and gardening. Her wisdom to live by was “ Be Calm”. Born in Minneapolis, Minn., on April 26, 1924, she was a daughter of George and Violet (Anderson) Cronquist, both of whom preceded her in death. On Sept. 30, 1944, in Chicago, Ill., she married Edward “Ed” Hamilton Howard, who preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 2000. Survivors include a son, Edward L. (Sandy) Howard; daughters, Karol (William) Hope, and Kristine A. (Arnold) Howard-Plant; grandchildren, Lisa Sabine, Edward B. Howard, Dalton H. Plant; great grandchildren, Victoria Howard, Connor Sabine, Luke Sabine; and best friend, Bonnie Ford. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karyn A. Howard; brother, George Cronquist; and great grandson, Torin Howard. Dr. Eugene Gladney will conduct funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from noon until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
