Seymour Daily Tribune February 4, 2002 Harold Gene Hubbard Harold Gene Hubbard, 69, Seymour, died at 5:07 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at Columbus Regional Hospital after being in failing health for nine weeks. Mr. Hubbard served in the Korean War. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, and retired from Cummins Engine Co. after 30 years. He was film technician for Seymour High School football and served on several boards at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lutheran Men’s Choir, Lutheran Men’s Bowling League and helped build the welcoming sign for the Jackson County Fair. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a Red Coat at Memorial Hospital in Seymour. Born Feb. 24, 1932, in Jonesville, he was a son of Virgil Hubbard and Eva Hall Hubbard. On June 26, 1955, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sauers, he married Selma Petering, who survives in Seymour. Other survivors include three sons, Jeff (Barb) Hubbard, Jerrell (Karla) Hubbard and Jay (Bethany) Hubbard, all of Seymour; a daughter, Doug (Jackie) Hill, Seymour; eight grandchildren, Kristin Hubbard, Jillian Hubbard, Alicia Hubbard, Ryan Hill, Amy Hill, Kelsey Hubbard, Morgan Hubbard and Grant Hubbard; and two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Bertha) Simmons, Hope, and Mrs. Everett (Margaret) Clark, Jonesville. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert L. Hubbard and Glenn H. Hubbard. The Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, the Rev. Philip E. Bloch and Vicar Jimmy Rodriguez will conduct services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Vietnam Veterans 7, all of Seymour. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, Voss Chapel, Seymour, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran School Building Fund.
