Seymour Daily Tribune Dennis E. Huckleberry November 2, 2006 April 24, 1923 - Oct. 31, 2006 Dennis E. Huckleberry, 83, Salem, died at 2:31 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Huckleberry was a member of Life Tabernacle, Salem, and was a 4-H leader and a volunteer fireman for Monroe Township. He was a World War II veteran and he retired from Smith Cabinet. Born April 24, 1923, in Salem, he was a son of Elmer Huckleberry and Millie Jane Fleenor, both of whom preceded him in death. On Dec. 6, 1947, he married Flora Mae Nolan, who survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Marilynn J. Durbin, Salem, and Karen L. Sorrels and Patricia D. Barnard, both of Columbus; two brothers, Paul E. Huckleberry, Indianapolis, and Lee Huckleberry, Dunnellon, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Brother Rodney Wineinger will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home, Salem. Burial will take place at Crown Hill. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
