Seymour Daily Tribune Herman Ray Hulse August 29, 2006 March 5, 1949 - Aug. 26, 2006 Herman Ray Hulse of Independence, Iowa, and formerly of Seymour, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a sudden illness. Mr. Hulse graduated from the Seymour High School and then entered the military. He owned and operated the Ray Hulse Construction Company in Independence and drove a bus for the Independence Community School district. Born March 5, 1949, in Seymour, he was the son of Lawrence H. and Mary M. Davis Hulse, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Brenda Eschen on May 5, 1987 in Las Vegas, and she survives. Other survivors include a son, Brian Alflen, Grand Rapids, Mich.; two daughters, Tina Frazier, Blythe Woods, S.C., and Emily Hulse, Independence; two granddaughters, four brothers, John Hulse, St. Petersburg, Fla., David Hulse and Charles Hulse, both of Orlando, Fla., and Alan Hulse, North Vernon; and two sisters Linda Treadway and Nancy Edwards, both of North Vernon. The Rev. Dennis Bailey was to conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery.
