Seymour Daily Tribune February 22, 2007 William E. Hundley April 22, 1917 - Feb. 21, 2007 William E. "Bill" Hundley, 89, Seymour, died at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at Covered Bridge Health Campus, Seymour. Mr. Hundley was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired in 1978 from Silgan in Seymour and was also a coalminer in Illinois. He was a member of Sauers Men's Club and a former member of the Golden Age Club of Sauers, Dudleytown Conservation Club, American Legion Post 89, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, and Fraternal Order of Eagles 655, all of Seymour. He enjoyed playing bingo, camping with family and bowling. He was a member of the Lutheran Bowling League and bowled on the Big Red team in Seymour. Born April 22, 1917, in Herrin, Ill., he was a son of Richard and Rosanna Hipple Hundley, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 23, 1979, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers, he married Delores Eggersman Stuckwisch, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Merrill (Pam) Hundley, Griffin; a daughter, Rosemary (Vincent) Mertz, Laredo, Kan.; three stepsons, Jerry Stuckwisch, Crothersville, Michael "Spanky" (Rosa) Stuckwisch, Tampico, and Allen (Sandy) Stuckwisch, Seymour; a stepdaughter, Janet (Mark) Bobb, Seymour; three brothers, Robert Hundley, Owensboro, Ky., Richard (Norma) Hundley, Decatur, Ill., and Royce (Alma) Hundley, Cartersville; three sisters, Mabel Yates, Herrin, Ill., Helen Milles, Ozarks, Mo., and Ellen Wilhite, Commiskey; 10 grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 16 stepgreat-grandchildren. The Rev. Craig Muhlbach will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers. Burial will take place at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Sauers. Full military graveside services will be conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Vietnam Veterans 7, all of Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Brownstown, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church. Memorials may be given to Sauers Cemetery Fund or Sauers Expansion Fund.
