Wendell Hunsucker 
1928 - 2016

Wendell Hunsucker, 87, of Indianapolis died Friday, March 4, 2016.
Born August 26, 1928, in Vallonia, he was the son of John E. Hunsucker and Iva Griffin Hunsucker, both of whom preceded him in death.

He graduated from Vallonia High School in 1946 and Purdue University in 1950. After college, he lived in Vallonia until 1967 before moving to Indianapolis.

He retired from Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Co. and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, White River Yacht Club and John Purdue Club. He was a staunch supporter of Purdue and was a season ticket holder for 65 years. He also loved the Indianapolis 500, having attended since 1948.

Survivors include his children, Renee Purkis, Lana Klene, Eric Hunsucker, Jane (Al) Nuetzel of Indianapolis and Jay Hunsucker of Franklin; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services in Indianapolis.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service.

A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Vallonia Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lawrence Township Foundation for the Ronald Klene Scholarship.
