Seymour Daily Tribune December 19, 2006 Belle L. Hurd May 30, 1911 - Dec. 18, 2006 Belle L. Hurd, 95, Seymour, died at 10:48 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at Schneck Medical Center. Mrs. Hurd was a member of Seymour Community Church. She was a homemaker and was retired from EMC Plastics in Medora. Born May 30, 1911, in Perry County, Ky., she was a daughter of Willie and Flora Lyttle Lewis, both of whom preceded her in death. On Nov. 28, 1926, in Clay County, Ky., she married Harley Hurd, who also preceded her in death. Survivors include 10 children, Eva Shinolt Applegate, Hurshel (June) Hurd, Elmo F. (Polly) Hurd and Melvin W. (Faith Ann) Hurd, all of Columbus, Sally (Joe) Ray, Florene (James) Sylvester and Mary (Steve) Muster, all of Seymour, Cecelia (Jeff) Francisco, Bloomington, Opal (Clint) Baker, Fort Pierce, Fla., and Timothy (Nadine) Hurd, Clearwater, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Albert Lewis, Phoenix. She was preceded in death by two children, Ruby Hurd and Oliver Hurd; four brothers; three sisters; two grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The Rev. Larry Dalton, Randy Shinolt and Frank Holt will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Pentecostal Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown, followed by a dove release. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Voss Chapel, Seymour, and from noon until time of service Wednesday at the church. Memorial may be given to Seymour Community Church.
