Seymour Daily Tribune March 7, 2002 Roberta S. Jackson Roberta S. Jackson, 96, Seymour, died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown. Mrs. Jackson was a member of First United Methodist Church in Seymour. She was a bookkeeper for AL-Jax Chemical Co. for several years and was a member of Order of Eastern Star. Born July 4, 1905, in Bartholomew County, she was a daughter of Greely August Solomon and Daisy Gillespie Solomon. On Dec. 21, 1927, she married A.L. Jackson, who died Feb. 1, 1961. Survivors include three grandchildren, Michael L. Jackson, Seymour, Marc W. Jackson, Ohio, and Matthew P. Jackson, Columbus; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew. She was preceded in death by a son, Jacques Coleman Jackson, and two sisters, Margaret “Nona” Wirey and Freida Romine. The Rev. Neal Partain will conduct services at 2 p.m. Friday at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hoosier Christian Village, First United Methodist Church or Shields House.
